Author of UNSINGLE How to Date Smarter and Create Love That Lasts
A fun, science-backed dating guide that interrupts the relationship patterns keeping love just out of reach―and empowers readers with the dating tools to build lasting, healthy connections.
Dubbed the “scientific Carrie Bradshaw” by The Observer, relationship expert Amy Chan has helped thousands of singles transform their love lives through her world-renowned Breakup Bootcamp and Dating Bootcamps. What she’s discovered is surprising: Most single people aren’t failing at love because they need years of therapy or a complete personality overhaul.
They’re stuck in outdated dating patterns―and once those patterns are identified and interrupted, everything changes.
In this groundbreaking guide, Chan introduces the Dating Funnel framework, a step-by-step dating strategy that pinpoints exactly where people are getting stuck and why Whether it’s struggling to meet quality matches, feeling frustrated by stalled face-to-face dating connections, or getting caught in situationship purgatory, Unsingle offers a practical roadmap to update dating skills and heal the deeper wounds that block connection.
Chan’s approach is refreshingly honest and often hilarious: Sometimes the common denominator in all those dating disasters isn’t bad luck―it’s a pattern. She’s here to lovingly call it out and teach exactly how to shift it.
Backed by cutting-edge research, real client transformations, and her signature blend of tough love and genuine warmth, Unsingle proves that creating lasting love isn’t about luck―it’s about skill.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author:
When I was heartbroken for the millionth time, I knew I wanted to help others not feel so alone, that my pain would not be in vain. Writing was my way of doing that. I started with blogs, then a dating column, and then a book.
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook:
I personally like reading paperpacks because I carry them around with me. I love an audio book when I’m at the gym or walking. Not much of an ebook girlie though.
The last book I read:
Awe. The New Science of Everyday Wonder and How It Can Transform Your Life by Dacher Keltner. I loved it, it made me realize the importance of awe, how it makes us more open and compassionate, and how we can cultivate it every day.

Early 1960’s Hong Kong. I love a beautiful silk cheongsam.

My signature drink:
Matcha latte.
Favorite artist:
I love film. And my favourite artist is a director, Wong Kar Wai. His films are like watching art and make me feel so many emotions, mainly, awe and beauty and love.
Number one on my bucket list:
Take my mom on an epic trip to asia. I’ve spent a lot of my life prioritizing my own self care, my career, my hustle, and feel like I’m at a stage in life where creating core memories with people I love is the priority. My mom has been through a lot, and sacrificed a lot, and I would love to give her an experience that will wow her.
