Author of The Betrayal

Poised with regal grace and pristine wealth, Angelette Arabella is the dutiful daughter of Valerius Arabella, a dictator who rules with an iron fist.

When she stumbles upon a series of long-buried secrets that threaten to dismantle their carefully crafted lives, she faces a harrowing choice: expose the truth and risk everything or remain silent and let the lies continue. As tensions rise and loyalties shift, she must decide who to trust in a game where betrayal lurks around every corner.

Will Angelette have the courage to face the darkness, or will her fear silence her forever?

Author I draw inspiration from:

The author I drew inspiration from is actually twofold: the POV style is heavily influenced by Richard Paul Evans in the Michael Vey series, while the story itself is adapted from the drama and dystopian themes of George Orwell, particularly 1984.

From Richard Paul Evans, I loved the Michael Vey series for the way he blends action with deep character perspectives. From Orwell, 1984 remains unforgettable for its tension and thought-provoking exploration of control and society.

Favorite place to read a book:

I love curling up in my hanging egg chair, reading a book. If I could have it my way, it would be in a sunroom where I can feel the outside without actually being outside.

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with:

Michael Vey from Michael Vey by Richard Paul Evans.

Michael would probably be trying to stay calm while secretly calculating every possible outcome. I’d be nervously asking questions, and he’d offer quick, strategic answers with a hint of sarcasm to keep me in line. By the time help arrived, we’d have a mix of problem-solving, tension, and just a touch of humor—and I’d definitely leave impressed by how fearless and resourceful he is under pressure.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author:

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author was after I got four chapters accepted by Morgan James.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook:

I need a combination of Hardback and audiobook. Hardbacks feel substantial and collectible. Paperbacks are cozy and portable.
Ebooks are convenient for travel or late-night reading. Audiobooks let me immerse myself in a story while doing other things—though I miss flipping pages!

The last book I read:

Michael Vey The Final Spark Book 7 By Richard Paul Evans. I absolutely loved it! The ending was so intense—Michael and his friends facing off against the Elgen, all the twists with Hatch and the shocking reveals kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved seeing how Michael stayed true to his friends and his values, even when everything was stacked against him. The mix of action, clever plans, and those emotional moments where the characters really support each other made it impossible to put down.

Pen & paper or computer:

I definitely prefer a computer; I love having the convenience of accessing my documents anywhere I am. I always have my phone with me, which is why I switched. I was constantly setting down my notebook and forgetting where it was, so it just became easier to use my phone, computer, or tablet.

Book character I think I’d be best friends with:

Honestly, Hunter from The Lies We Fear: The Betrayal by Heather Ogden is already loosely based on my fiancé, and I just added a lot more flirtatiously playful lines.

He’s based around my fiancé, the man I fell in love with, who was a really good friend to me initially.

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a:

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a lawyer most likely - not because it is something that I really enjoy, but more because I love to argue and debate and do research, so it is a job that I think would be a good fit.

Favorite decade in fashion history:

My Favorite Decade is the Victorian era.

Place I’d most like to travel:

Japan

I’m fascinated by its blending of tradition and modernity, from ancient temples and gardens to bustling cities. The culture, art, and history are endlessly inspiring.

My signature drink:

Nonalcoholic—something warm and comforting, like hot chocolate.

Favorite artist:

Lately, I’ve been really into the music from K-pop Demon Hunters—the energy, the style, and the vibe of the soundtrack just clicks with me. I also listen to a lot of nightcore remixes on repeat; there’s something about how they transform songs that I really enjoy.

Number one on my bucket list:

Traveling the world, even though the United States is a large country, there is so much more to see and do in other parts of the world, and I want to be able to experience that.
