Author of Lady X
The search for a notorious vigilante exposes the secrets among three generations of women in this propulsive novel of female resistance and rage, sweeping from contemporary L.A. to gritty 1970s New York.
Los Angeles, 2024. After learning that her A-list actor husband sent explicit photos to multiple girls on social media, Margot Cooper runs away from the world—and the paparazzi—by fleeing to her childhood home with her teenage daughter in tow.
But home isn’t the sanctuary Margot was hoping for. In a cardboard box in the corner of the attic, she finds damning evidence of an infamous urban legend, the mysterious vigilante “Lady X”—including a blurry newspaper photo of a woman who looks an awful lot like Margot’s mother.
New York City, 1977. In the midst of an infamous summer, Ginger Daughtry and her two beloved roommates are able to shield one another from the chaos—until one of them is assaulted. Astounded by the lack of response from police, the young women decide to engage in some light payback, signing their handiwork as “Lady X.”
Soon copycats appear, and a movement inspired by acts of vandalism against terrible men spirals out of control, with criminals running amok under the guise of the enigmatic Lady X. When a body is found fallen—or pushed—from five stories high, the hunt reaches a boiling point.

Author I draw inspiration from:
Oh wow - SO many Alix E Harrow - I love every magical thing she writes. Joshilyn Jackson - I loved her women's fiction and I love her domestic suspense - she can write anything and I'll read it. Ali Hazelwood's romances are top, top shelf!

Favorite place to read a book:
I wish I could say something interesting here - but I am purely an in bed reader. I hate reading outside. I don't really have a reading chair or nook. Even if it's the middle of the day - I am reading in bed.
Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with:
Considering my current obsession with Heated Rivalry - it would be fun to be in an elevator with Ilya Rozanov. ;)

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author:
When I was a kid I read the Emily of New Moon books and when Emily became a writer I remember thinking "wow, that's a thing you can do?" And after that, it was what I wanted to do.
Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook:
This is such a book person question! Audiobook for walking the dog. Ebook for reading at home. Paperback for reading in airports or on planes or trains.
The last book I read:
I am finishing the audiobook of Fingersmith by Sarah Waters - a FANTASTIC gothic mystery. I LOVE it. So many twists, incredible prose and perfect narration by Juanita MacMahon. It's the kind of book that makes you gasp at the twists.

Pen & paper or computer:
Oh, computer. I used to do pen and paper, but it got phased out. I am my most creative in the morning so I really protect that time and try to get at least 1500 words a day. When I'm in the middle of the book I spend a few minutes in bed in the morning just visualizing the scene I'm going to write that day. I love those quiet minutes.
Book character I think I’d be best friends with:
Emily of New Moon!! I have no idea if we'd be friends - I always thought she was more grounded and sensible than Anne of Green Gables and that appealed to me.

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a:
I always wanted to be a florist. Despite having absolutely no green thumb or being very good at arranging flowers. It would just be so nice to be surrounded by flowers all day.
Favorite decade in fashion history:
Oh, if you've been watching the Gilded Age like I have - the answer is simple. Despite the corsets and uncomfortable shoes - Gilded Age.
Place I’d most like to travel:
Oh, I'd love to do the hike across Ireland or Scotland, where you hike all day and stay at Inns at night. That's my dream. I'd also really like to do the Camino de Santiago in Spain.
My signature drink:
Coffee in the morning and a paloma or a spaghett for cocktail hour.
Favorite artist:
Oh wow! Well, Taylor Swifts Vigilante Shit was a HUGE inspiration for Lady X - so let's go with Taylor!
Number one on my bucket list:
