Author of The Path to Sunshine Cove and Snow Kissed

About Snow Kissed:

Tis the season for a little white lie…

Christmas has always been single mom Holly Goodwin Moore’s favorite time of year. The twinkly lights on the tree, the cookies in the oven, the snow on the ground. But she’s just not feeling it this year. The wedding in her ex’s family is almost here, her daughter, Lydia, is bursting at the seams to be a flower girl…and Holly couldn’t be dreading it more. She told a little white lie about having a new boyfriend as her plus-one, hoping to save face. She needs a date for the wedding…and she needs it now.

Ryan Caldwell wants to be free this holiday season. So even he isn’t sure how he landed in Shelter Springs, looking after his niece, Audrey, with his estranged father down the road. But when he meets Holly, she makes him want to belong for the very first time. So they make a deal: he’ll be her date if she’ll help him give Audrey a true Christmas to remember while her mom is away.

About The Path to Sunshine Cove:

“With a past like hers, Jessica Clayton feels safer in a life spent on the road. She’s made a career out of helping others downsize--because she’s learned the hard way that the less “stuff,” the better, a policy she applies equally to her relationships. But a new client is taking Jess back to Cape Sanctuary, a town she once called home...and that her little sister, Rachel, still does. Against her judgment, Jess finds herself becoming attached--to her sister and her family, even to her client’s interfering son, Nate--and it’s time to put everything on the line. Does she continue running from her painful past, or stay put and make room for the love and joy that come along with it?”

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author:

2025: When I was a junior in high school, I became a reporter for my high school newspaper and learned to love telling stories. I decided I wanted to one day write a romance novel, the kind of books I loved to read. I never dreamed one day I would have written nearly 80 books!

2021: No single moment stands out but I knew from high school I wanted to write novels. I went into journalism instead but still carried that dream with me until I was on maternity leave with our first child, when I started my first book.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook:

2025: Ebook or audiobook. I was an early adopter of ereaders (1st generation of Kindle) so it’s been a long time since I read an actual physical copy of a book. I love being able to increase the font size on my device and also turn the pages with my remote (yes, I feel very lazy doing it!). For audiobooks, I love that I can be “reading” anywhere I go: In the grocery store, on long drives, while fixing dinner. It’s a great time to be a booklover!

2021: ebook

The last book I read:

2025: God of the Woods by Liz Moore. This book kept me on the edge of my seat from the very first page. I loved it!

2021: The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

Pen & paper or computer:

2025: I use a hybrid of dictation and writing for my rough drafts and then rewrite on computer. If you want to get into the nitty-gritty, I use a MacBook Air on a raised stand so that it is at eye level, and I use an external Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad. I have to focus a lot on ergonomics since I’ve been sitting at a computer for thirty-five years! I plot extensively prior to starting a new book, focusing especially on the characters, their conflicts and important turning points. I will do a scene-by-scene outline, writing each scene on a colored index card depending on the POV character. I then organize the cards to figure out what scene order should be and then start writing. I do typically three drafts of a book. The first one is a very, very rough draft, what I call my discovery draft. The second draft is where I fine-tune the book, filling in all the holes I have left in the rough draft. The final draft I called my sparkle draft. It’s when I go through to try to make the story glow.

2021: Computer, unless I'm stuck, then pen and paper.

Book character I think I’d be best friends with:

2025: Anne Shirley from the Anne of Green Gables books by L.M. Montgomery. I admire her zest for life and her love for her community and the world around her.

2021: Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables

If I weren’t an author, I’d be a:

2025: I would adore being a travel writer/vlogger. I love to travel and experience new places and would love to share that love.

2021: High school English teacher

Favorite decade in fashion history:

2025: The 1920s. So elegant yet so freeing for women, especially.

2021: 1810

Place I’d most like to travel:

2025: I would love to spend several months traveling throughout Italy by train. I’ve been there twice and loved each time yet there are so many other amazing areas of the country I haven’t seen.

2021: To Italy again, this time to Tuscany and the Cinque Terre.

My signature drink:

2025: I’m very boring but mostly infused water or the occasional Diet Coke.

2021: Flavored water. I'm boring!

Favorite artist:

2025: American artist Maynard Dixon. He beautifully captured images of the Southwest, including Utah, where I live.

2021: Monet

Number one on my bucket list:

2025: I would love to visit all 50 U.S. States. I’ve been to 34 so I have 16 to go!

2021: I love to travel and would love to spend several months traveling the world.
