Author of Trust Yourself Anyway: Designing A Life That Fits
OVERVIEW
We all know the fitting room moment. You try something on and instinctively start adjusting yourself instead of questioning the garment. We’ve been taught to doubt ourselves when something feels off. It rarely occurs to us that it might just be the fit.
That moment follows us far beyond the mirror.
In our twenties, it shows up as comparison and performance pressure that drowns out our own voice. In our forties, fifties, and beyond, it appears in careers that look successful on paper, in relationships that once fit but no longer do, in lives that feel subtly misaligned. The details change. The discomfort doesn’t. Beneath it lives one quiet question: Can I trust myself enough to choose differently?
Trust Yourself Anyway: Designing a Life That Fits is a hybrid memoir and guide that meets this need. Structured around four pillars—Trust, Awareness, Curiosity, and Letting Go—it blends vulnerable storytelling with soulful reflections and simple practices. The result is a framework that feels both lived-in and usable: story first, reflection second, with practices woven into each pillar.
This book is distinct because I’ve spent more than three decades living its message. As the founder of an award-winning fashion brand that celebrated young women, a speaker and educator who has led workshops and talks across the country, and now a writer, I’ve witnessed firsthand how deeply women, across generations, long for self-trust. My irreverent, grounded style has always been my strength.
Early readers describe the book as leaving them more peaceful, more compassionate toward themselves, and more motivated to take risks. That feedback reflects the heart of the book:
• Confidence — the courage to trust your inner voice and act.
• Creativity — the curiosity to play, risk, and evolve.
• Connection — with yourself, with others, and with the love that has been there all along.
This is not a “fix yourself” book.
It is a “remember who you are” book.

Favorite place to read a book:
on my couch curled up with a cup of decaf at night or in the am with a caffeinated cup
Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with:
I read mostly non fiction, so it would be the author I would like to get stuck in an elevator with! Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda. We would laugh, possibly dance—maybe talk—maybe not.

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author:
There have been many moments that I knew I wanted to write a book, but non stronger than in 2020 when the Voice was stronger than the excuses.

The last book I read:
I just read Elizabeth Gilbert's All the Way to the River and am in awe of her courage to express with such raw vulnerability. I am aligned with her commitment to love, create and evolve.

Pen & paper or computer:
I do both. I handwrite every morning as a way to mind dump and get out of my own way. Sometimes this works. I type, print out, scribble on, cut up, re- arrange, crumple up and throw away. As Margaret Atwood once said, "Make the trash can your friend." I have.
Book character I think I’d be best friends with:
It is the authors that I want to be best friends with. A few are Dorothy Parker, Kate Chopin, Anne Lamott and Elizabeth Gilbert.
