Favorite place to read a book: On a plane. There’s something magical about traveling to or from somewhere, reading a book.

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with: The first character that came to mind was Hermione Granger — she’d know a spell to get us out. But then my mind jumped to...wait, is God considered a character in the Bible? If so, I have a LOT of questions to ask in that elevator…

The moment I knew I wanted to become an author: It wasn’t until I was a full-fledged adult that I realized that becoming an author was even a possibility. For so many years, I thought that’s what other people do (not Korean-American people like me). When I finished reading David Sedaris’s “Me Talk Pretty One Day,” I thought to myself, hmmm...boy do I have some stories, maybe I could do this. Then I sat down and wrote my first personal essay.

Hardback, paperback, ebook or audiobook: I love paperbacks! A close second is audiobooks though — I live in L.A. and I’m in my car a lot.

The last book I read: I just finished (and loved) “Get a Life, Chloe Brown.” The next books in my queue are advance copies of “Little Creeping Things” by Chelsea Ichaso and “By the Book” by Amanda Sellet. Then I’ll probably dive into some Stephen King.

Pen & paper or computer: I have a pen and post-it note obsession, so can I vote for pen & post-its?

Book character I think I’d be best friends with: I would love to be BFFs with Bridget Jones.

If I wasn’t an author, I’d be a: Tech marketer (my previous job) and I’d probably doing more standup comedy.

Favorite decade in fashion history: I love seeing my mom’s older photographs from the 1960s. She had a really great sense of style.

Place I’d most like to travel: I’ve always wanted to go to Australia. I’d also love to go to South Korea again in a few years.

My signature drink: Vodka and soda. Also, iced coffee. Also, sometimes chocolate milkshakes.

Favorite artist: My daughter. She draws the cutest Pokemon!

Number one on my bucket list:  To see Mt. Rushmore. My husband thinks I’m joking but I’m not.

In her former life as a stand up comedian, she was a finalist in the Oxygen Network's "Girls Behaving Badly" talent search, and appeared on BET's "Coming to the Stage." She found this to be the funniest thing in her comedy career because, well, she is not black. Suzanne was also the winner of the Seattle Sierra Mist Comedy Competition, and was a semi-finalist in NBC's "Stand Up For Diversity" showcase in San Francisco. Suzanne graduated from Columbia University and received an MBA Degree from UCLA. After spending many years as a tech marketing executive, she turned to writing fiction full-time. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, female offspring, and a sneaky rat that creeps around on her back patio. In her spare time, she procrastinates.
