Author of Through The Garden Gate

When Miles stumbles upon a neighbor’s mysterious gate, he steps into a world of wonder—where talking animals, fluttering fairies, and extraordinary plants await. Inspired by native ecology and brought to life through lush, timeless illustrations, this gentle adventure encourages children to look more closely at the natural world around them.

Favorite place to read a book:

On a hammock, in a garden

Book character I’d like to be stuck in an elevator with:

Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11): Authored or co-authored several books, including Return to Earth (1973), Magnificent Desolation (2009), and No Dream Is Too High. I would ask him to tell me about what he saw while he was in space... classified details and all.

The last book I read:

Real Magic, by Dean Radin, PhD. Fascinating. Makes me want to go back to school to study quantum physics.

Anything else you'd like to add:

My hope is that the book I wrote sparks curiosity in children, encouraging them to ask questions, to observe more closely, and to remain engaged in the magic of discovery.

Above all, I hope it inspires children to step outside, to explore, and to form a deeper connection with nature—and that it creates space for parents and children to bond, perhaps sharing this story together at bedtime.
